Our mission is to preserve and nurture the Serbian language and the Cyrillic alphabet, and at the same time to preserve and nurture the Serbian cultural, national, linguistic and religious identity. The educational model we apply provides an opportunity for our students to reach their maximum potential, preserve and improve their knowledge of the Serbian language.
Through a well-designed and rich curriculum, students get acquainted with the basics of Serbian literature, history, tradition and culture. Serbian language classes take place according to the established schedule, according to which students have six classes a fortnight. Teaching units that abound in content from Serbian culture are interesting and useful. The lessons are designed according to thematic units such as national food, daily routine, traditional music and folk dances, famous writers and literature, science and culture, as well as getting to know Serbia through virtual visits to cultural and natural sights. The school also has a folklore section in which our students learn folk dances from Serbia. Once a year we organise a visit to our church.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which St Euphemia College stands, the Darug People.
